Die Besten Beratenden is a B2B matching platform for the German Mittelstand. Companies that need consulting post what they are looking for; consultants keep a verified profile, get matched, and apply. I built the full product — frontend, API, database, search, billing, and deployment.

The platform has two account types. A Beratungssucher (demand side) searches consultants, sends inquiries, publishes projects on the marketplace, bookmarks profiles, and writes verified reviews. A Beratungsanbieter (supply side) maintains a public profile on one of five subscription tiers, applies to marketplace projects, publishes events and professional articles, and — from the premium tier up — runs a company profile with team member accounts under one subscription.

Scope

  • Faceted consultant search over expertise areas, industries, ratings, funding programmes, and location
  • Marketplace with a per-project apply policy (public, restricted, invite-only) that is evaluated on every request instead of snapshotted, plus hand-picked invitations for individuals and whole companies
  • Email-routed inquiries through a transactional outbox table and a background worker, with priority bands so a fan-out never delays a one-to-one mail
  • Stripe subscriptions: checkout, customer portal, and webhook-driven feature gating across five tiers
  • Funding programme (Förderprogramme) accreditation as an independent eligibility axis, not tied to the subscription tier
  • Events, professional articles with ratings, bookmarks, team invitations, and an admin dashboard
  • Product analytics with PostHog (EU)

Tech

  • Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, React Router v6
  • Backend: Node.js 22, TypeScript, Fastify 5, Zod, pnpm workspace monorepo
  • Data: Supabase — PostgreSQL with row-level security, Auth, Storage; more than 80 migrations
  • Search: self-hosted Typesense
  • Services: Stripe for billing, Brevo for transactional email, PostHog EU for analytics
  • Infrastructure: Docker on Coolify (EU server), Cloudflare for DNS and CDN
  • Tests: Vitest for unit and integration tests, pgTAP for database policies

Around 40 frontend routes and more than 20 API route groups. Sole developer, working from a client briefing.
